In the movie 'The Legend of Bagger Vance', Captain Randolph Junah's new caddy, Bagger Vance, entices him to play the game of golf like he's never played it before. He helps him find his authentic swing - a swing of the club that only Junah would have. 

Do you have a just cause that you passionately believe in and want to pursue? Does it stir your soul when you think and talk about it? 

If this is the case, then chances are that you are either at the brink of gaining support from like-minded people or have already started to do so. The truly great causes in life can never be pursued alone. We need a team of people who share our vision. By implication, it also means that you are the Leader.

Recently we had the opportunity to escape from the rat race and spend some time at Mabibi, a serenely beautiful and unspoilt beach location on the North Coast of Kwazulu-Natal. If ever you want to be completely cocooned by Mother Nature, then this is the place to be! You will not be disappointed.

Imagine you are transported into the future 5 years to this day. You find yourself sitting in front of the desk of your Doctor. The atmosphere is somber. His facial expression mirrors twisted feelings of helplessness and sadness. "You have cancer and you only have about three months to live", is all he could utter. Imagine the flurry of emotions piercing through your heart. 'How could this be? It normally happens to others, not to me. Why me?

In the movie Facing the Giants, a story is told of two concerned farmers conversing about a drought they had been experiencing for some time. The farmers decided to pray for rain. Afterwards, one of the famers immediately started to plough his fields and then sow seeds in expectation of the rain to come. The other just sat back and waited, thinking that he would only start to plough the soil once the rain had actually fallen. He didn't have enough faith to put in the effort required to reap the reward. One may speculate that he was too complacent as well.

Someone once said that 'in times of adversity some men break, others break records'. With the current economic downturn, we can safely say that we are at the tipping point of this statement. Some people will choose to break; others will indeed break records.

If you've had the opportunity to go on a shopping trip with your wife, you will agree that the experience can sometimes be painfully cumbersome.

We are all born with a set of gifts and talents. Hopefully, we use these gifts and talents and other resources to achieve our goals and fulfill our purpose in life. 

To reach our goals, we need to be willing to overcome all obstacles coming our way. This is often easier said than done. We sometimes become so overwhelmed by our obstacles, or shall I say, we find ourselves so deep in the middle of the swamp, with crocodiles popping up everwhere, that we become oblivious to dry land!

Since the beginning of mankind people needed and benefited from leaders in every sphere of life; be it religion, society, family, education, government, professional or business. Without leadership there is simply no direction.
